Sincerely, Jackie Home Office Before & Inspiration Board

Remember when I posted on Instagram last week and said I was going to be spending my birthday updating my home office? Well, it's happening!

The last few months have been a whirlwind of change - buying a new home, moving, leaving my full-time job, working from home...with all of the craziness, certain things got put on the back burner. Like my office. I've been working out of a completely uninspired space, a spare bedroom in our new house with light blue walls, no window treatments, zero furniture (other than this desk, a falling-apart vintage dresser, and a few old pieces from Target), and a fabric remnant on the floor as a "rug". Pathetic, especially because I dream of being able to bring clients to the house for consults.

My husband and I decided it was time to give this room an update - especially because I'm working from home and need the space to be functional (and inspiring!) for my growing business. This past Tuesday was my birthday, and my husband and I spent the day painting, assembling, and installing. I'll share the space when it's finished, but here's the inspiration.

I really want my office to speak to the Sincerely, Jackie brand - which is also a reflection of my heart. I love soft colors, corals, aquas, neutral tones, all shades of metallics, natural fibers, and whimsical details (like a rabbit lamp!) patterns and textures. This office space was my original inspiration - I love how it's so clean, bright, modern, and sophisticated; but I want to also add in hints of aqua and coral. Since storage is an issue, I purchased cabinets from Ikea to create a custom L-shaped desk with a ton of shelves and built-ins, which will be fitted around my current desk that I love. Open shelves are so dreamy, and my space also needs to function as a showroom for when clients come, so I'll be spray painting these shelves in a light gold/champagne color. I cannot wait to use the shelving for storage AND display purposes. While I adore this metallic rug from West Elm, it was out of my budget and I found something remarkably similar (sans metallic) at Home Goods. The new rug is soft under my feet, and protects the floor from being scratched by my office chair. Pops of aqua on the windows, coral flowers, and a fresh new light fixture will help bring the office together. A new pinboard will also be installed, and I cannot wait to hang my favorite Sincerely, Jackie gold foil art print.

What do you think? I love it, and we've already made a ton of progress which you can follow along on Instagram. I can't wait to share the full finished room with you!

Sincerely,
